'Welcome to our maternity unit at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust. We provide personalised, safe and high quality maternity care for families living in Hertfordshire, North London and surrounding areas. It is important to us to provide the very best care for every person, every day.'

We are committed to providing personalised, safe and high quality maternity care during your pregnancy, labour & birth and the early postnatal period.

We offer maternity care from a number of hospitals and community hubs and our main maternity hospital is Watford General Hospital. You may choose to give birth at home, in our midwife-led Alexandra Birth Centre, or our consultant-led delivery suite. We will support you to make an informed decision as having this choice has been shown to have a positive effect on your birth experience.

We provide outpatient antenatal and postnatal clinic services at Watford General Hospital, Hemel Hempstead General Hospital, St. Albans City Hospital and local Family Centre hubs. We provide inpatient antenatal and postnatal services at Watford General Hospital.

Here at West Herts we understand that you have many choices to make and many questions to ask. We have, therefore, designed these app pages for you to use with your midwife and/or doctor. This aims to support you and your family to have the very best care and experience possible, during this very special time.
