We have specialist midwives working in multidisciplinary teams, to provide care for women and families with complex needs. These include: smoking cessation, bereavement, safeguarding and a vulnerable women’s team called The Daisy Team. We have a screening and fetal medicine team, diabetes, birth choices, infant feeding and our newly launched community continuity of carer teams. We offer a wide range of antenatal education including twins and multiples classes and ‘Ask the Midwife’ sessions. Our hypnobirth classes are very popular. Our neonatal unit provides care for babies requiring intensive care, high dependency care and special care. To avoid prolonged periods of separation between new mothers and their babies, our postnatal midwives and our neonatal nurses work closely with each other, providing care both in the neonatal unit and on our postnatal ward.
